A pair of Springfield College alumni are currently enjoying their time with Major League Baseball's Toronto Blue Jays as the team competes in MLB's fall classic, the World Series. Both Caitlin Haworth, G'19, PhD'23, and Cadin Maynard '23, G'25, spent this past baseball season working for the Blue Jays' Class-A affiliate in Dunedin, Florida.
Haworth graduated from Springfield College with a Master's Degree in Exercise Science and a Doctorate in Sport Psychology. She has spent the last two years as a Minor League Mental Performance Coach within the Toronto Blue Jays organization, working primarily with the teams and players recovering from injury. At Springfield College, Haworth was a member of the Springfield College baseball coaching staff, actually coaching Maynard when he was a student-athlete. She gained valuable insight and experience that has prepared her for a role in MLB with the Blue Jays.
"Springfield College prepared me for the skills necessary to flourish in my role as a Mental Performance Coach," expressed Haworth. "It's an honor to represent the College, and be a part of the Blue Jays organization."
Maynard graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Exercise Science and a Master's of Education in Strength and Conditioning. While at the College, he had the opportunity to act as a Graduate Assistant Strength Coach for numerous varsity sports including: baseball, women’s soccer, women’s basketball, and track and field.
