Springfield College 27th Annual Greene Memorial Lecture

The Springfield College Department of Physical Therapy hosted its 27th annual Greene Memorial Lecture in Physical Therapy on Thursday, April 4, 2024. This year's lecture featured Physical Therapist and Movement Scientist Gammon M. Earhart, PT, PhD, FAPTA, and was held in the new, state-of-the-art, Health Sciences Center.

The Springfield College Department of Physical Therapy hosted its 27th annual Greene Memorial Lecture in Physical Therapy on Thursday, April 4, 2024. This year's lecture featured Physical Therapist and Movement Scientist Gammon M. Earhart, PT, PhD, FAPTA, and was held in the new, state-of-the-art, Health Sciences Center.

Earhart's presentation focused on her research and focuses on movement control and rehabilitation in neurodegenerative conditions, with an emphasis on gait and balance in Parkinson disease. She currently serves as associate dean for Physical Therapy, and Professor of Physical Therapy, Neuroscience, and Neurology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

Earhart completed physical therapist training at Arcadia University, earned a PhD in Movement Science from Washington University in St. Louis, and completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University.

The Greene Memorial Lecture was initiated by Edwin Greene, a member of the Springfield College Class of 1935, in memory of his wife, Jean Greene. It is the premiere scholarly event of the Springfield College Department of Physical Therapy.

As part of the Greene Lecture, current Physical Therapy students earned prestigious awards including: Kinsey Colby, who earned the Jean Crothers Welles Scholarship Award, and Allison Olsen, who was awarded the Margaret E. (PK) Kleinfeld '72 Physical Therapy Award.
