Springfield College celebrated Kelly Curtis ’12 as she represented the United States of America in the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. Starting on Thursday, February 10, Curtis made her Olympic debut in the skeleton, completing three runs.

This marks the second time that a former Springfield College women's track and field student-athlete will compete in the Olympics, as Erin Pac Blumert '03 won the bronze medal in the two-woman bobsled for the United States in the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver.

During her time as a student-athlete on Alden Street, Curtis had a decorated career.  She was a three-time NCAA All-America honoree, won the Penn Relays in the heptathlon in 2011, and was a two-time NEWMAC Field Athlete of the Year selection.  She graduated with a degree in Sport Management and is currently a member of the U.S. Air Force.

Springfield College is the only Division III institution in the country to have representation in both the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo and the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing current Springfield College junior Mikaili Charlemagne swam for her home country of Saint Lucia this summer.
