Springfield College Hosts 9-11 20th Anniversary Remembrance Ceremony
Led by the Springfield College Office of Spiritual Life, members of the Springfield College campus community, past and present, gathered on Saturday, Saturday 11 to remember and reflect on the 20th anniversary of the events of September 11, 2001. In addition to the College's formal ceremony, the tolling of the bells in the Campus Union marked the tragic events of that day.
Twentieth Anniversary Memorial Service
8:46 a.m. The crash of Flight 11 into the north tower of the World Trade Center.
9:03 a.m. The crash of Flight 175 into the south tower of the World Trade Center.
9:37 a.m. The crash of Flight 77 into the Pentagon.
9:59 a.m. The collapse of the south tower of the World Trade Center.
10:03 a.m. The crash of Flight 93 in Pennsylvania.
10:28 a.m. The collapse of the north tower of the World Trade Center.
As part of the remembrance ceremony, all members of the Springfield College community had an opportunity to reflect both upon the loss of life and upon the noble examples of leadership in service to others exhibited that day and in the days that followed. Marsh Chapel and the Meditation Room were also available for individual quiet prayer and reflection.
