The Springfield College Athletic Administration Graduate Program hosted its annual leadership series for the spring semester focused on servant leadership in athletics on Tuesday, Feb. 27, in the Cleveland E. and Phyllis B. Dodge Room located in the Flynn Campus Union.

The event featured Boston College Senior Associate Athletics Director of Administration Vaughn Williams, who shared his experiences as an athletic administrator who promotes servant leadership among student-athletes by helping them develop an attitude and practice of service to others.

After working as assistant athletic director of operations and facilities at Boston College from 1998-2004, Williams served as athletic director at Kennesaw State University for six years before returning to Boston College in 2017. He was selected as the 2016-17 Under Armour Athletics Director of the Year by the National Association of Collegiate Director of Athletics for his work at Kennesaw State.

Joining Williams, was Kennesaw State University Director of Character Development Sterling Brown, who shared principles, stories, and experiences as they relate to servant leadership and its potential for impact.

Launched in the spring of 2011, the Athletic Administration Leadership Series is held each semester and alternates a focus between high school and intercollegiate athletics.
