Springfield College hosted an opportunity for its students to connect with accomplished alumni during the "Evening of Alumni and Student Career Networking" event celebrated on Thursday, November 2, 2023, in the Cleveland E. and Phyllis B. Dodge Room, located inside the Flynn Campus Union. The night was sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations and the Student Alumni Association.

The event is designed to help students develop and refine their networking skills, while establishing valuable connections with experienced alumni. As students embark on their professional journeys, they will benefit from the wisdom and insights of accomplished Springfield College graduates. This program is open to students of all levels and disciplines, including traditional first years, sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students.

"Our annual Evening of Alumni and Student Career Networking is an incredible opportunity for Springfield College students to meet and talk with alumni from a variety of career fields in a very comfortable setting," described Associate Director of Alumni Relations Maria D'Agostino Crawford '91. "There is nothing like the in person to person connections when growing your professional network, both for alumni and students. This year, we had several young alumni attend, who participated in this event as students, which is so meaningful to witness the growth from students into outstanding and accomplished professionals. A sincere thank you to the more than 100 alumni and students who attended."
One unique feature of this event is the structured networking format. Upon arrival, students are assigned to tables alongside alumni, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations. This approach helps create a welcoming atmosphere, making it easy for students to approach and learn from alumni in various fields.

"For the past 10-plus years, alumni from a variety of career fields have joined us for an evening of networking where current undergraduate and graduate students have the opportunity to connect and learn from professionals who have a vested interest in their success," explained Springfield College Director of Alumni Relations Deleney Magoffin '05, G'11. "The experiences of our alumni align well with our students' career aspirations, which has resulted in many success stories over the years including internship and job placements. We are always excited to welcome back alums from a variety of organizations, and it's rewarding to hear success stories from both alumni and current students."
