Springfield College hosted National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Saturday, Feb. 20. During the event, girls in grades K through six participated in several sports and activities, including soccer, gymnastics, tennis, and field hockey. The clinics were free of charge.
Following the morning of activities, participants were encouraged to bring a bagged lunch and were invited to watch, free of charge, the Springfield College women’s basketball team play against Wellesley College on James Naismith Court in Blake Arena.
“We are always excited to host National Girls and Women in Sports Day at Springfield College," commented Kiki Jacobs, associate director of athletics at Springfield College. "Traditionally, the turnout for the event is great, and the girls always have a fun time interacting with our student-athletes. We enjoy celebrating the achievements and accomplishments of girls and women in sport.”
