The 2021 Springfield College Move-In Day occurred on Friday, Sept. 3, as more than 570 traditional undergraduate students were welcomed to the campus community as part of the Class of 2025. This special day marks the beginning of the 2021-22 academic year. This incoming class represents the strongest academic profile of any entering class in history, with an average cumulative high school GPA of just over 3.5. The incoming class represents 22 different states and 15 countries.

In true Springfield College tradition, the campus community assisted all incoming students in moving into their residence halls as soon as they arrived on the main campus. Springfield College student leaders assisted the Class of 2025 and their families as they begin their Springfield College journey together.

"Springfield College is where you challenge yourself," said Springfield College President Mary-Beth Cooper to the Class of 2025. "Springfield College is where you find your goals, and you are in the right place at the right time. And I couldn't be happier to welcome you to your new home."

Following the morning move-in sessions, the Class of 2025 and transfer students were celebrated at the annual New Student Convocation ceremony outdoors at Amos Alonzo Stagg Field. Convocation is the traditional academic welcome of the 2021-22 Springfield College academic year.

The Class of 2025 and transfer students were greeted during the ceremony by Springfield College President Mary-Beth A. Cooper, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Martha Potvin, Vice President for Student Affairs Slandie Dieujuste, Class of 2022 Executive Board Member Luther Wade, distinguished faculty members, and special guests.

"Own every moment, breathe each of them in and out, and remember this is what life is about," said Springfield College Class of 2022 Executive Board Member Luther Wade to the Class of 2025. "Stay present and confident, in who you are right now, and who you want to be."
