Clinical Experiences

During the first two years of the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program, every student engages in weekly integrated clinical experiences with our clinical partners. Beyond that, students participate in 30 weeks of full-time, hands-on clinical experiences in approved clinical education facilities. Our students also have opportunities to engage in global health clinical service experiences; for the past two years, a group of DPT students spent their spring break working with faculty at a clinic in Haiti.

The combined coursework and clinical experiences set the stage for graduates of our DPT program to get the job they want and deserve. Recent graduates reported working as physical therapists in places such as Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital; Yale New Haven Hospital; Baystate Health Systems; NYU Rusk Rehabilitation Hospital; Hospital for Special Surgery; ATI Attain Physical Therapy; HealthSouth; and Cape Fear Hospital.

Other graduates have taken their knowledge and become physical therapy residents at venues including the Louisiana State University Health Science Center and James Haley VA Hospital.
