Scholars in Action is celebrating its 20th year in 2024!

Scholars in Action has been the centerpiece of the undergraduate research experience at Springfield College for 20 years.

At Springfield College, we pride ourselves in offering undergraduate students opportunities to broaden their educational experiences that they might not normally be afforded.

One such way is through Scholars in Action. This experiential learning opportunity has been the centerpiece of the undergraduate research experience at Springfield College for 20 years. Each academic year, students present their scholarly work to the College community as part of the four-part Scholars in Action Days.

Students work with faculty over one or more semesters on their research projects, which culminate in a presentation at either a poster session, or paper or oral presentations, involving hands-on interaction and Q&A sessions with other students, faculty, and staff evaluators.

Such opportunities help students build resumes for graduate school, gain experience with formal, professional-style presentations, and help in developing research skills, building mentorship relationships with faculty, and offer a meaningful experience in creating scholarship for larger academic forums and audiences.
