Writing and Reading Support Services

Peer tutors are available to help with numerous academic writing tasks, such as short assignments, lengthy essays, research papers, reviews of literature, and even graduate theses. Tutors also assist students with reading strategies, such as previewing textbooks and articles, enhancing comprehension and retention of information, and expanding and utilizing vocabulary.
Math and Science Support Services
Math and Science Support Services provides assistance to students taking courses offered by the Department of Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science, as well as the Department of Biology/Chemistry. Faculty-approved peer tutors staff math and Science Support Services.
Content Tutorial Program
The Content Tutorial Program provides support for all coursework that is outside of the areas covered by Writing and Reading Support Services and Math and Science Support Services. The Content Tutorial Program is staffed with faculty-approved tutors who provide individual or small group sessions to students.
Conversation Partners Program
The Conversation Partners Program matches non-native speaking students with native-speaking conversation tutors to improve conversation and comprehension skills in spoken American English. Conversation tutors help their students improve listening skills, expand vocabulary, check comprehension, explain colloquialisms and, in general, support their assigned students’ linguistic skill-enhancement.
