With the impending winter storm expected to bring ice and snow during both the morning and afternoon commutes, the Springfield College main campus will operate remotely on Thursday, February 6, 2025 to keep our community safe and allow our facilities and campus safety staff to clear parking lots, sidewalks, and to prepare the campus to reopen on Friday. 

The Campus Union, Dunkin, and The Table @Cheney will maintain their normal hours of operation; Starbucks will be closed. The Wellness Center will be open from 9 a.m.-10 p.m.; there will be no Group Exercise classes. The Counseling Center and the Health Center will be closed and not available for walk-in appointments. Please contact Public Safety at (413) 748-5555 for counseling or medical emergencies.

Graduate Strength and Conditioning Program Outcomes

Goal 1 : Students should be able to create evidence-based strength, movement, and conditioning sessions.

  • SLO 1 : Students should be able to explain the physiological adaptations to resistance training, movement, and conditioning sessions.
  • SLO 2 : Students should be able to apply the principles of physiological adaptations to resistance training, movement, and conditioning sessions.

Goal 2 : Students should be able to implement evidence-based strength, movement, and conditioning sessions.

  • SLO 3 : Students should be able to demonstrate proper exercise technique.
  • SLO 4 : Students should be able to explain proper exercise technique.
  • SLO 5 : Students should be able to correct exercise technique using verbal cues and exercise intervention.
  • SLO 6 : Students should be able to demonstrate rapport building strategies with athletes.

Goal 3 : Students should be to implement sport-science data interpretation in their role as a strength and conditioning coach.

  • SLO 7 : Students should be able to interpret sport science related data. 
  • SLO 8 : Students should be able to implement changes to resistance training, movement, and/or conditioning sessions based upon sport-science data.
  • SLO 9 : Students should be able to communicate interpretations of sport science data to other stakeholders.
  • SLO 10 : Students should be able to recommend changes to other stakeholders after interpreting sports science data.

Goal 4a : Students should be to implement sport-science data interpretation in their role as a strength and conditioning coach.
