Health Promotion Program Outcomes
Goal 1: Graduates will demonstrate health studies content knowledge.
- SLO 1: Graduates will demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, and human sexuality.
- SLO 2: Graduates will demonstrate knowledge of food science and nutrition.
- SLO 3: Graduates will demonstrate knowledge of human diseases, substance abuse, and prevention of disease and substance abuse.
- SLO 4: Graduates will demonstrate knowledge of community health and health literacy.
- SLO 5: Graduates will demonstrate knowledge of healthcare systems and healthcare management.
Goal 2: Graduates will convey knowledge of, enthusiasm toward, and initial competency in working with diverse populations in their chosen profession within the health promotion field.
- SLO 6: Graduates will be able to assess factors that may enhance or imped health education and health promotion in a given population or context.
- SLO 7: Graduates will be able to plan and implement programming based on identified needs in a given population or context.
Goal 3: Graduates will secure employment in the health promotion field and/or gain acceptance to graduate school.
- SLO 8: Graduates will be able to demonstrate requisite writing competency for acceptance into desired institution of higher education.
- SLO 9: Graduates will be able to plan, implement, and assess health promotion programs.
- SLO 10: Graduates will be able to adhere to ethical principles of the profession.
