LifeLong Learning | Springfield College

LifeLong Learning

Learning is continuous and lifelong.

LifeLong Learning is a wonderful Springfield College program for adults over 55 years of age who continue to be fascinated by learning and who would like to expand their knowledge on a variety of subjects. Springfield College and the greater Springfield area provide a rich source of talented people who volunteer as instructors to make this program possible.

Springfield College provides a great many opportunities for those looking for intellectual challenges or just some great entertainment from competitive athletic events, the William Simpson Fine Arts Series, and the Fuller Performing Arts Center.

Pursue your desire for information and knowledge.

Now celebrating its 32nd year, Springfield College established Learning in Later Life (now called LifeLong Learning) in 1989. Fall and spring semesters include topics in current affairs, film, books, and a variety of other subjects of interest. With no grades or real homework assignments, members can focus on what is of interest to them. The $65 membership fee covers all regular class sessions for one semester. Members may register for as many offerings as they wish. Additional fees are charged for field trips or special activities.

Join old friends and meet new ones.

Each semester begins with a kickoff social and registration, an informal social gathering for coffee and conversation. Join old friends and meet new LifeLong Learning members over a continental breakfast, and receive course updates and other materials during this open house-style event. Staff will be available to assist with course enrollment and to answer questions.

Great teachers teach great ideas.

Classes are taught by volunteers, including Springfield College faculty, retired faculty, peers, and community members who have a passion for a topic and a willingness to connect with others. Click on the current brochure below to see for yourself the types of classes that are offered.
