The Deborah Salierno Kristopik '85 Scholarship Fund
Deborah (Deb) Salierno Kristopik
Deb, as she preferred to be called, graduated from Springfield College in 1985, during the centennial year of the College, with a Bachelor of Science in physical education. She received a Master of Science degree in health and human performance. Deb was a teacher, coach, and mentor to her students at The Holy Cross School and Central Connecticut State University. For 13 years, she served as wellness director and assistant director of therapeutic recreation at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center in East Hartford, Conn. Deb loved the residents and brought much joy to those who passed through their doors. An avid sports fan and passionate animal lover, Deb's love of life lit up every room she ever entered. On May 19, 2020, Deb succumbed to complications of COVID.
While at Springfield College, Deb attended as many sporting events as possible and participated on the equestrian team. She loved her horses. Deb made many friends while on the campus. During a virtual memorial service held in May and attended by friends from the classes of 1983-86, as well as retired physical education faculty, she was remembered as always upbeat and smiling and a friend to all.
