Valentine Fund
Established in 1996 by Joe Valentine '50, former president of the United Way of the Bay Area (Ca), the School of Human Services Valentine Fund serves as an emergency fund to help School of Professional and Continuing Studies students who face a financial crisis due to an emergency event in their lives to stay enrolled in school. The School of Professional and Continuing Studiescurrently serves 1,800 students at ten locations throughout the country. You can specify that your gift to the Valentine Fund be restricted to one of the campuses of your choice, or you can allow your gift to be used for the greatest need at any of the ten campuses. The fund is by the Campus Directors in consultation the Dean of the School of Professional and Continuing Studies. The Valentine Fund provides direct impact at a challenging time in a student’s life.
If you prefer, you can choose to give to the Springfield College Fund, much of which is used to support student financial aid. This is especially important since each year, on average, 90 percent of the College’s undergraduate students receives financial assistance, allowing students to realize their education and career goals. The Springfield College Fund also helps support other critical areas, such as hand-on research opportunities for students with faculty who are leaders in their fields, as well as student special interest clubs and organizations.
