Springfield College Doctoral Student Javad Bakhshinejad Earns National Grant

Colorado Springs, CO – The National Strength and Conditioning Association Foundation is proud to announce that Springfield College Class of 2026 Doctoral Student and Interim Institutional Data Analyst Javad Bakhshinejad has been named a recipient of the NSCA Foundation’s Graduate Research Grant (Doctoral) for 2025. Bakhshinejad was selected by the NSCA Foundation Grant Committee and Grant Panel after a thorough evaluation pro-cess of all applicants. This grant program funds Graduate research in strength and conditioning at Doctoral level. Doctoral Student Research Grant proposals do not exceed $15,000.
Bakhshinejad is a PhD candidate in Exercise Physiology at Springfield College, where his research explores fatigue, intensity, and biomechanical performance in resistance training. He currently serves as an Interim Institutional Research Analyst, supporting strategic planning and evaluation by analyzing institutional data and trends.
With a background that bridges strength and conditioning, clinical research, and data analytics, Bakhshinejad brings a multidisciplinary perspective to the field. He holds a Master of Science in Kinesiology from Seattle University and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Washington State University. He has also worked as a certified strength coach, personal trainer, and educator.
Bakhshinejad's current research, supported by the NSCA Foundation Grant, utilizes velocity-based training technology to better understand technical breakdown and autoregulation in compound lifts. He is passionate about producing action-able science that benefits both athletic and clinical populations.
