Criminal Justice Program Outcomes
Goal 1 : Graduates will understand and apply the major criminal justice-related theories.
- SLO 1 : Demonstrate an understanding of the nature and causes of crime.
- SLO 2 : Apply theory to specific subject areas (e.g., drugs, juvenile delinquency, victimology, etc.).
- SLO 3 : Demonstrate the integration of theory and practice in student internships.
Goal 2 : Graduates will make informed and ethical judgment on issues related to crime and punishment.
- SLO 4 : Analyze and evaluate the contemporary response to crime.
- SLO 5 : Explain how diverse populations (i.e., based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, mental illness, etc.) are affected by crime control.
Goal 3 : Graduates will communicate their thoughts and arguments effectively (both written and orally).
- SLO 6 : Write academic papers using the proper syntax, formatting, and grammar with correctly cited academic sources and reference sections.
- SLO 7 : Present their work with clarity, using evidence from the literature to support their arguments and offer research and policy implications.
