Exercise Physiology, Phd Learning Outcomes

Goal 1 : Graduates of the Doctoral Program in Exercise Physiology will be able to teach Exercise Physiology and related courses at the College/University level upon completion of their degree.

  • SLO 1 : Students will demonstrate a mastery of basic and advanced concepts related to the field of Exercise Physiology.
  • SLO 2 : Students will demonstrate a mastery of pedagogy as it relates to working in academia.

Goal 2 Graduates of the Doctoral Program in Exercise Physiology will be prepared to conduct publishable research in the field of Exercise Physiology.

  • SLO 3 : Students will be able to perform a review of literature in a chosen field related to Exercise Physiology and identify gaps in the literature that need to be addressed.
  • SLO 4 : Students will be able to design studies that address the gaps identified in the systematic review.
  • SLO 5 : Students will be able to analyze and interpret scientific data. 

Goal 3 : Graduates of the Doctoral Program in Exercise Physiology will be prepared to contribute to the field professionally.

  • SLO 6 : Students will learn how to make effective oral presentations on topics related to exercise physiology.
  • SLO 7 : Students will learn how to make effective poster presentations on topics related to exercise physiology.
  • SLO 8 :  Students will learn how to write grants for external funding to support research topics related to the field of exercise physiology.
