Time to Program Completion

Doctoral students are required to complete a minimum of 88 academic credits during four to six years of study. Students entering the program with a master's degree in counseling or a related field can transfer in up to 30 credits of coursework and will require at least three years of coursework followed by at least one year of doctoral internship. Students entering without a master's degree in counseling or a related field will require at least four years of coursework with at least one year of doctoral internship.

Students who have graduate level counseling-related courses from another institution may transfer up to 30 credits from the former program, provided that those credit hours were successfully completed within the past seven (7) years, the student received a B- or better for a grade, and the student completed the course at a regionally accredited institution. Acceptance of transfer credits will be decided by the PsyD Program Director. Students wishing to transfer credits from another institution must provide course syllabi and/or descriptions and an official transcript.
