Resources for Students
The Towne Health Center
The Towne Health Center has trained professionals that are able to meet with students and provide support and resources needed regarding cessation services.
If you are interested in meeting with a provider, please make an appointment by calling (413) 748-3175. The health center staff can also help you navigate the resources available through your own health insurance.
Massachusetts Telephone Smoking Cessation Program
If you live in Massachusetts*, call 1-800-QUIT-NOW (1-800-784-8669) or the direct line at 1-800-879-8678. Students are eligible to use their coaching program, which is free for up to five calls. Most individuals are eligible to receive four weeks of free patches or gum (based on insurance).
*If you are a Massachusetts resident but do not have a Massachusetts area code number, visit MakeSmokingHistory.org to enroll.
Connecticut Telephone Smoking Cessation Program
If you live in Connecticut*, this service is available by calling 1-800-QUITNOW (1-800-784-8669) or the direct line at 1-866-784-8454. Students are eligible to use their coaching program, which is free for up to five calls. Most patients are eligible to receive two weeks of free patches or gum (based on insurance).

AHealthyMe Program
Available via Blue Cross Blue Shield
This program offers a variety of support tools for smoking cessation and overall healthy living. Register online or by calling the customer service line at (888) 627-0696, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. AHealthyMe is available to all Springfield College employees, even if you have not elected our health insurance benefit.
Tobacco Cessation Coaching
Via the Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
To reach an EAP professional, call (800) 252-4555 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and ask to speak to a Smoking Cessation Coach, or visit the website. EAP services are available to all Springfield College employees and their families.
