Mission Statement
At Springfield College, we are dedicated to nurturing the holistic development of our students through the integration of spirit, mind, and body. Our Student Employment program reflects this commitment by providing valuable opportunities for students to engage in meaningful work experiences that not only enhance their academic learning but also contribute to their personal growth and well-being.
Through our student employment initiatives, we aim to empower students to cultivate their talents, skills, and passions while fostering a sense of purpose and community within the Springfield College family. Together, we strive to inspire and support our students in their journey towards becoming compassionate and responsible leaders who embody the spirit of service and excellence.
Student Employment Application Process
Our Student Employment program, students can search for job opportunities and apply for jobs. On our Student Employment Positions webpage, you can browse current available positions, view detailed descriptions, access applications, and check hourly rates. Students may only work up to 20 hours per week, regardless of the number of positions held.

The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) identifies career readiness competencies that help prepare college graduates for success in the workplace. Skill-based competencies are utilized by employers to evaluate job applicants’ credentials and are also used to evaluate employee performance on the job, as well as for professional development, growth, and future career advancement.
Throughout your time employed in on-campus student employment opportunities, be cognizant of career readiness competencies, plus other transferable skills that you will be gaining. It is also important for you to articulate them on your resume, cover letter, during employment interviews, and throughout your ongoing employment.
Please become familiar with the following career readiness competencies:
- Career & Self-Development: Proactively develop oneself and one’s career through continual personal and professional learning, awareness of one’s strengths and weaknesses, navigation of career opportunities, and networking to build relationships within and without one’s organization.

Information About Your First Paycheck
Please note that your first paycheck will be mailed to the address on file with the payroll office as part of the prenote process. Once your bank account is verified, future paychecks will be deposited directly into your account, provided you have enrolled in direct deposit. To enroll, add your account details through the Banner Employee Self-Service Dashboard. With direct deposit, your funds will be available in your bank account on payday morning, avoiding the need to wait in lines at the window or ATM.
