Human Performance and Strength Lab
The Human Performance and Strength Lab is a dynamic and innovative space dedicated to advancing the study and practice of exercise science and physiology. Our state-of-the-art facility allows students and faculty to engage in hands-on learning, cutting-edge research, and comprehensive fitness and health testing, all aimed at fostering positive changes in wellness and performance.
The primary Lab space is 1,250-square-feet, and contains a biochemistry wet lab room, a body composition room with BodPod, several treadmills and metabolic carts, Velotron and Monark cycle ergometers, a GE Ultrasound, and full 12-lead EMG devices. These devices are used for both student and faculty research, as well as teaching tools for a variety of courses across the undergraduate and graduate programs.
The Strength Lab is a separate 400-square-foot space containing a full power rack and platform with barbells and weights, a Delsys Trigno EMG system, and a variety of other strength, power, and muscle-specific assessment tools.
