Graduate Physical Education, Professional Licensure Program Outcomes
Goal 1 : Graduates will be able to demonstrate advanced content knowledge in: (a) planning curriculum and instruction; (b) deliver effective instruction; (c) manage classroom climate; (d) promote equity; and (e) meet professional responsibilities.
- SLO 1 : Apply knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and equity to develop culturally relevant PK-12 physical education curricula for students of all abilities aligned with state and national standards (a, d, e).
- SLO 2 : Apply knowledge of legal and ethical principles to design safe environments and instruction within physical education contexts (c, e).
- SLO 3 : Apply knowledge of evidence-based instructional models to plan, deliver instruction, and assess within physical education contexts (a, b).
Goal 2 : Graduates will be able to demonstrate advanced physical education content knowledge in: (a) principals of developmental sound physical health and fitness; (b) lifespan growth, development, and nutrition; (c) history and foundations of kinesiology; (d) planning curriculum and instruction; and (e) legal and moral responsibilities.
- SLO 4 : Identify and describe instructional strategies, teaching styles, and instructional models relevant to physical education (d).
- SLO 5 : Explain how supervision, mentoring roles, and leadership interact. (c)
- SLO 6 : Explain developmentally appropriate strategies to support diverse learners in progressing toward physical literacy (a, b, d, e).
Goal 3 : Graduates will be competent researchers in the field of physical education.
- SLO 7 : Review lines of research within physical education.
- SLO 8 : Design and conduct a research project.
- SLO 9 : Present findings and implications from research in varied modes (verbal, written) in a professional manner.
