Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with SAA program recruitment and admission processes, which may include:
    • Representing program at open houses, graduate fairs, and off-campus recruiting events
    • Creating promotional materials (e.g., brochures, bulletin boards, social media posts)
    • Following up on inquiries and applications from prospective students and monitoring enrollment of admitted students
    • Assisting with coordination and planning of SAA Interview Days
    • Collaborating with Graduate Admissions staff
  • Support current students in SAA program through organizing academic and social events, assisting with advising, and building community
  • Represent the SAA program at internal and external meetings, events, organizational meetings, and conferences
  • Develop or administer special projects in areas relevant to progressing the SAA program
  • Schedule and maintain regular office hours
  • Assist with SAA program administrative responsibilities (e.g., entering information into databases, maintaining electronic records, creating and updating event calendars)

 Secondary Responsibilities: 

(NOTE: Specific secondary responsibilities will be negotiated and determined based on program’s needs and graduate fellow’s interests)

  • Provide research assistance to faculty members (e.g., develop literature reviews, assist with data collection and analysis)
  • Support program faculty in curriculum development and program assessment and evaluation
  • Serve as a teaching assistant for one or more SAA courses
  • Support program’s involvement in regional and national professional organizations

*Other duties may be required as identified by SAA program faculty.


Fellowship Required Qualifications

The graduate fellow should have:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstration of ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Working knowledge and/or willingness to develop working knowledge of the program, departmental, college, and professional association requirements and guidelines.
  • Organizational and administrative skills and experience
  • Ability to use APA writing guidelines
  • Position Requirements:

    The fellow must be a full-time graduate student at Springfield College and be enrolled in the Student Affairs Administration (SAA) program.
