Springfield College is following guidelines shared by the Massachusetts Commissioner of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.  FAQs, community messages, safety precautions, and policies can be found on our website and will be updated regularly.

We are excited to welcome our students to campus for the Fall. We are working diligently to provide a positive and safe student experience. All decisions have been made based on current available information. We will continue to monitor the situation and adjust our policies as necessary.

The Springfield College mask policy follows the best practices as set forth by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Staff, faculty, students, and guests who are fully vaccinated are required to wear a mask on campus while indoors. Those who are not fully vaccinated must wear a mask at all times both indoors and outdoors. To comply with the city mandate, face coverings are required outdoors on campus for all when social distancing of six-feet or more is not possible.

In the spirit of Humanics, we ask you to respect the wishes of your close community members and act accordingly within individual departments, offices, and buildings.

Fall 2021 COVID Dashboard

The COVID-19 Dashboard updates will be provided twice per week on Tuesdays and Fridays during fall 2021. The starting date of 8/10/21 is used because that is when fall early arrival students began to return to campus. The information posted is the best available information Springfield College has at the time. The data reported includes all tests conducted on the Springfield College campus.  Positive cases reported include both those reported to the College from our Broad testing and any positive case that is reported to the College from an off-campus test.  The number of tests administered each week can vary based on testing needs as well as the capacity of the Broad Institute to process all tests. The vast majority of test results are received within 24 hours of the samples reaching the lab (24-36 hours from specimen collection); occasionally the Broad has maintenance or other issues that result in delays, though those have been very limited. A very small percentage of tests are not able to be processed by the lab and those individuals are retested.
