Angela Salem, Springfield College Counseling Center

Angela received her B.S in Psychology from Francis Marion University in 2010. Currently, Angela is enrolled in her final year in the M.Ed Clinical Mental Health  program at Springfield College. Her therapeutic approach includes focusing on building rapport and developing a comfortable and trusting relationship with the student. This enables Angela to meet students with where they are at and how to help the students realize their strengths, and how they can utilize those strengths to overcome difficult situations. Angela is from Akron, OH and she enjoys traveling the world to see new environments and to experience different cultures.

A quote that stands out to Angela the  most came from her supervisor Gary Enright which states, “often times we listen to respond instead of listening to understand. If we do not understand what someone is saying, perhaps we aren’t listening in the right way.”
