Join us for a conversation on mental well-being, motivation, and staying connected in intercollegiate athletics during the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the past year, the landscape of intercollegiate athletics and what it means to win dramatically changed. Faced with a pandemic, the definition of success suddenly was not measured in wins or losses. Student athletes, coaches and athletic department staff were isolated, seasons were lost forever, and for a moment, there was no clear path back to competition. Winning now had to be viewed from a different perspective.

What became important were the day-to-day goals of focusing on maintaining connections, fostering continued motivation, and prioritizing the mental and emotional well-being of staff and student-athletes. Our panel of Springfield College athletic administration program alumni will share their personal stories of how COVID-19 has impacted them and how they continued to persevere and redefine success through motivation and personal connection.
