East Campus Hosts Service Learning Groups

Assistant Director of East Campus and Outdoor Programs Angela Veatch and Rachel Keyworth teach an immersion class with undergraduate and graduate students. It is called processes and techniques and program planning in therapeutic recreation. This past Sunday, one of the groups completed its service learning project at East Campus. It was a collaboration with the City of Springfield and their "Fun and Fitness" program for adults. They put together a two-hour program for the participants that included a nature scavenger hunt, nature bingo, and decorating cookies. The other group completed its service learning project last Thursday with Massachusetts Hospital School in Canton, Mass. They put together a music exploration program for their youth male program.
