National Student Speech Language Hearing Association Awards Springfield College 2020 Bronze Chapter Honors

The National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA) has awarded the NSSLHA Chapter at Springfield College with 2020 Bronze Chapter Honors.
 

The National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA) has awarded the NSSLHA Chapter at Springfield College with 2020 Bronze Chapter Honors.

Efforts made by the NSSLHA Chapter at Springfield College helped National NSSLHA:

  • Increase awareness of communication sciences and disorders (CSD) on more than 110 local college campuses and communities across the country

  • Increase advocacy efforts by sending more than 15,500 letters to state and federal legislators

  • Provide scholarships to students in CSD programs by contributing more than $15,000 to the ASHFoundation’s NSSLHA Scholarship

  • Support CSD-related organizations with more than $162,000 in donations

“Our club has worked hard since September to have more of an influence on campus and in the greater community. Despite this year’s uncertainty, our NSSLHA Club has come together to combine efforts into finishing out the academic year just as strong as we began it,” said NSSLHA Springfield College Chapter President Sofia Cadden.

National NSSLHA Chapter Honors are awarded to affiliated NSSLHA chapters that demonstrate an outstanding effort to support National NSSLHA’s mission to inspire, empower, and support students in communication sciences and disorders programs.

Springfield College’s NSSLHA Chapter is dedicated to creating an inclusive learning environment by being a support system for students interested in Communication Sciences and Disorders by providing opportunities to engage in service and leadership consistent with the Humanics philosophy of spirit, mind, and body.
