On Friday, February 27, 2015, Springfield College Business Management majors will host over 100 fifth grade students from the Edward Boland School in Springfield. The event is the culmination of a partnership between Springfield College, Junior Achievement and Boland School.

Earlier in the school year, more than twenty-five Springfield College students, working in partnership with JA High School Heroes from the Springfield Renaissance School, presented Junior Achievement programs to Boland students in grades 2-4.

On February 27th the Boland students will participate in JA’s Our Nation program which provides practical information about businesses’ needs for individuals who can meet the demands of the job market, including high-growth, high-demand jobs. It introduces the concept of globalization of business and the need for students to be entrepreneurial in their thinking. In addition to completing the JA program, delivered by Springfield College JA Volunteers, the Boland students will tour the Springfield College Campus and have lunch at the college.

The program is funded by a MetLife’s Sowing the Seeds of Entrepreneurship Award, presented to JA of Western Massachusetts in July at the JA USA National Conference.
