Springfield College Department of Rehabilitation and Disability Studies Assists Regional Family Support and Consultation Program

Student and faculty volunteers from the Springfield College Department of Rehabilitation and Disability Studies recently assisted the Regional Family Support and Consultation Program. More than 60 families were invited to Interskate 91 where their children with significant intellectual and physical disabilities, and their siblings, could skate for the afternoon. Families were able to support each another while their children were assisted with skating, pizza and other games. Program Director Karen Cassidy stated, "Thanks so much for coming to the skate party with your wonderful volunteers. They were all amazing and helpful."
