The Springfield College Department of Visual and Performing Arts hosted its annual fall theater performance, "Witch!" by Jen Silverman and directed by Martin Shell, as part of the William Simpson Fine Arts Series on Nov. 12-14. This year's performance was in a virtual format and once again featured Springfield College student performers.
The plot of the performance included a charming devil arriving in the quiet village of Edmonton to bargain for the souls of its residents in exchange for their darkest wishes. Elizabeth should be his easiest target, cast out by the town and scorned as a “witch,” but her soul is not so readily bought. A smart, modern fable, this wickedly funny and slyly subversive play will captivate you with the question: Would you know what to ask for if the devil came knocking at your door?
