Improve Human Communication.
The Communication Sciences and Disorders major at Springfield College prepares students to support individuals with communication and swallowing disorders while building a strong foundation for graduate study in speech-language pathology or audiology.
Students learn about the science of communication and explore topics such as speech and language development, hearing, fluency, voice, and language disorders. The program combines academic study with practical preparation for careers in health care, education, and clinical settings.
Graduates are prepared to pursue advanced degrees in speech-language pathology or audiology and are also eligible for Massachusetts licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA).
