What is Pre-Camp?
Pre-Camp is a student-run program for first-year Springfield College students designed to help you get a head start in making friends with your peers, familiarizing yourself with the college experience, and gaining a sense of self-assurance and confidence.
A Letter from Your Pre-Camp Staff
As students ourselves, we understand that attending college may be a tremendous change for you, and some of you may be leaving home for the very first time. We've all been there. Pre-Camp provides a unique and fun experience that encourages reflection and acceptance. We hope you decide to take this opportunity to get a head start on your college experience. We look forward to reading your applications and meet you at Pre-Camp!
Pre-Camp will be held Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019, through Friday, Aug. 30, 2019. You will spend four days and three nights at East Campus, a section of Springfield College located a mile and a half away from the main campus. East Campus is a nature zone with outdoor sleeping facilities as well as hiking trails, picnic areas, wide-open fields, and a waterfront. You will return to the main campus on Friday morning (Aug. 30) to join the rest of the incoming class before New Student Orientation (NSO) begins.
We encourage you to apply as soon as possible, as Pre-Camp can only accommodate 85 students. The deadline for the application is Monday, July 15. Students will be given more details and will need to pay an $85 fee to cover the cost of food and activities upon acceptance.
