Summer Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR)
What is SOAR?
It’s a one-day orientation, advising, and registration program for incoming first-year students and their families.
When Can I Attend?
Choose the date listed for your major or Tuesday, June 25*. The program is the same on either day, so choose the one that works best for you. Students in the Undeclared major may choose any of the four dates, as space allows.
*Exercise Science/Pre-professional Athletic Training majors should choose Thursday, June 20 or Friday, June 21.
What Happens During SOAR?
You’ll begin with check-in at 8:30 a.m. Student sessions include “getting to know you,” an orientation to your major, an introduction to student life, advising, and registration. You will also take your student ID photo. Family sessions include introductions to their student’s major, academic services, and student life. The orientation program concludes at 4 p.m.
Transfer students are invited to attend Transfer Orientation. More information will be sent to you in July.
