Through our Athletic Training program, you have the faculty who are going to push you, and train you, and teach you everything you need to know. But to actually hear someone come back and share their successes shows that the College is committed to well-rounded experiences.
Brad Pearson started his career here, which is really cool to see. It’s also helpful to learn about what the Athletic Training program produces and have it reinforced. We hear a lot about the pursuit of excellence. Having Brad back here on campus was exemplifying that, by really seeing what our alumni from this program are doing in their day-to-day lives.
Brad talked a lot about getting a job outside of Springfield after he graduated, and working his way up through the Red Sox organization as an athletic trainer and then gaining those experiences and moving up the ladder. It was really inspiring to have the opportunity to learn from not only one of our alums, but somebody who works so closely with such high-performing athletes. It was really great to see what my education here is preparing me for and to have the potential to be another Brad Pearson. It's super powerful to see what our alumni are doing. It also reinforces that our alumni network is huge. On one level, it reminds you that this is what your Springfield College education is going to allow you to do, potentially. On another level, it reminds you that you have connections everywhere. The Springfield College name goes everywhere.
It shows that Springfield College is on the cutting edge of athletic training and is really producing these high-level, high-performing professionals who are really invested in bettering the profession and continuing to educate younger generations about the profession.
These kinds of presentations by alumni in the field show we are not only producing great professionals, but we're also producing professionals who care about you, continue to give back to their profession, and continue to share the knowledge and education that they gained over the years.
