The FIFA World Cup is widely considered the largest and most-watched single-sporting event in the world. In June and July of 2026, the World Cup was held in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. More than 6.8 million people filled stands among all those venues to watch professional soccer.

Ava Becker remembers when their sister studied abroad during her college years. With their own study abroad opportunity in spring 2025 in Limerick, Ireland, Ava grew to be more independent and be more open to new experiences, among other benefits. They had successfully pitched the idea of combining an internship with traditional study abroad opportunities through the University of Limerick.

National Girls and Women in Sports Day Group

Over the last 20-plus years, student-athletes from Springfield College’s women’s athletic teams have participated in National Girls and Women in Sports Day. Girls in grades K-6 from local schools come to campus for a free multisport clinic hosted by our women’s teams. Hear from three student-athletes about why they look forward to this event and how it benefits the young girls.
