Students at an Open House
10 Reasons Why You Should Attend an Open House

Seeing is believing.

One way to know Springfield College is right for you is to experience a day on campus at Open House. Here are just 10 (of many) reasons why you should consider attending an Open House:

1. Get to meet with a faculty member from your major.

Thinking of studying physical education, psychology, or maybe criminal justice? Regardless of the major, you’ll have the opportunity to chat with faculty members in small groups about what the academic experience is like here at Springfield College.

2. Take a tour of our beautiful campus (which will lead to some “oohs” and “ahhs”).

I’m not kidding when I say that our campus has some of the best facilities for academics, athletics, and recreation. Oh, and did I mention, we have a newly renovated Learning Commons, your one-stop-shop for everything academic-related.

3. Hear from current students about anything and everything college-related.

Open House gives you a unique opportunity to meet with current students who can give you their perspective on the college search process and tell you why they chose Springfield College.

4. Lunch is on us.

We want to experience every aspect of college life, including a meal at our top tier dining commons, Cheney Hall. The best part? There’s no limit on cookies.

5. Start your Springfield College T-shirt collection.

You know you’re a Springfield College student when you have at least two drawers full of T-shirts. You’ll get your first one just for attending the open house!

6. Hoping to meet with a coach or current student-athlete?

Look no further. Open House starts with an athletic information session for those who are interested. You will get to hear from a panel of current student-athletes and then break into small groups with your prospective coach.

7. Hear what programs Springfield College has to offer, both academically and otherwise.

At our open house, we will have representatives from different offices across campus that want to hear from you: student activities, public safety, residence life, and the study abroad office are just a few that will be present.

8. Celebrity sightings.

When you attend Springfield College, seeing President Mary-Beth Cooper on campus and at events becomes a pretty regular occurrence. In addition to meeting her at Open House, you’ll probably run into Spirit (our mascot) as well as a number of important faces on campus (like our student leaders) and we can't wait to get to know you.

9. We look great on paper, just imagine how great we are in person!

As the most recent US News and Reports shows, our school is going places (in the upward direction). You’ll be impressed with our statistics, but we promise you’ll be even more impressed with our community.

10. Learn what Humanics means to us.

If you’ve been looking into Springfield College, you’ve probably seen the term “Humanics." We invite you to learn, in person, what Humanics really means. It’s so much more than a word-- it’s a way of life!

Convinced?

Register now for one of our upcoming Open Houses. We can’t wait to meet you and your family.
