Happy Fall,

We are excited that East Campus is running at full capacity this fall. This past year has been a challenging one, yet we capitalized on the opportunity to learn. Experiential education is not limited to any one experience, but all experiences, including those that occur during a pandemic. It forced us to practice what we teach: resilience, adaptability, and exploration of new opportunities for growth and development. The East Campus staff pivoted in program delivery to remote sessions, we took advantage of the quiet time to enhance the facility, and we created new resources for our students, alumni, and campers.

The pandemic helped remind us of the value of connection. It was very special to become fully operational again during the 85th year of Camp Massasoit. Despite not having access to all of our program areas, the joy seen on our campers’ faces when they returned to camp highlighted this for us. The property once again was filled with laughter, singing, and fun as our campers got back to the basics of running, playing, and being together.

As you read through the stories below, and learn about some of the new features at East Campus and how we are serving our community again, we hope you can take a moment to reflect on how you were able to adapt and learn from this past year. We are excited to be working with school groups, colleges, and our local community on the challenge course, as well as working on plans for next summer at camp.

As always, thank you for your continued support. Without you, many of the successes we experienced this past year would not have been possible. With you, there are no limits to what we can achieve.

Sincerely,

Ben and Veatch
