Minseok Cho, PhD, assistant professor of Sport Management and Recreation, authored the book chapter, “International Sport Management,” in the Encyclopedia of Sport Management (2nd edition) in September 2024.

Melih Elcin, MD, assistant dean for Interprofessional Education in the School of Health Sciences, co-authored “Use of different debriefing methods after in situ simulation with intensive care unit nurses” in Nursing in Critical Care in September 2024. Elcin also co-authored “Medical care as flea market bargaining? An international interdisciplinary study of varieties of shared decision making in physician-patient interactions” in Teaching and Learning in Medicine in March 2024.  

Erin E. Futrell, PhD, associate professor of Physical Therapy; Regina Kaufman, EdD, faculty emeritus of Physical Therapy; and Julia Chevan, PhD, faculty emeritus of Physical Therapy; co-authored “Long-term effects and impressions of minimal footwear in older adults,” in Gerontology in September 2024.

Sally M. Hage, PhD, professor of Psychology, authored several chapters and edited the book, An Ounce of Prevention: Evidence-Based Prevention for Counseling and Psychology, published by Cambridge University Press in October 2024.  

Jasmin Hutchinson, PhD, professor of Exercise Science and Sport Studies, published “Evidence of the association between kinesiophobia and physical inactivity” in Peer Community in Health and Movement Sciences in June 2024.

Mark D. McCarthy, PhD, assistant professor of Literacy Education, co-authored “Fiction-writing and wonder: Documenting a collaborative, creative writing process” in the Qualitative Research Journal in May 2024.

Prianka M. Musa, PhD, assistant professor of Finance, co-authored “Do analysts play a monitoring role? Evidence from exogenous changes in litigation risk” in the Journal of Corporate Accounting and Finance in May 2024. 

Christine L.B. Selby, PhD, associate professor of Psychology and director of Athletic Counseling, authored “‘I don’t want to compete anymore’: Using self-determination theory and motivational interviewing to help an athlete figure out what’s next” in the Journal of Sport Psychology in Action in April 2024. 

Mara Simon, EdD, associate professor of Physical Education and Health Education, and Korey Boyd, PhD, assistant professor of Physical Education and Health Education, co-authored “Meritocracy and material consequences at the intersection of race, class, and disability for pre-service PE teachers” in European Physical Education Review in August 2024.

Paul Thifault, PhD, associate professor of English, co-edited volume 45.1 of the archival journal Resources for American Literary Study (Penn State UP). The volume examined handwritten work by Edgar Allan Poe and the first draft of a Native American literary classic, James Welch's Winter in the Blood.
