Art therapy majors are prepared to work in a variety of settings prior to entering graduate studies, including psychiatric hospitals and clinics, community mental health centers, geriatric centers, drug and alcohol clinics, nursing homes, halfway houses, prisons, and alternative schools.

Fieldwork
Students participate in roughly 200 hours of field work with professionals to learn about client populations, developing a professional presence and to understand how people use art in expression.
