The Campus Recreation department offers a variety of fitness and wellness programs and services each semester to the College community, including activities such as group exercise, personal training, massage therapy, seminars, events, workshops, competitions and non-credit instructional classes. Registration is not required for programs unless otherwise noted.

Note: The fall 2019 group exercise schedule does not start until Monday, Sept. 9.

Group Exercise Class/Schedule Notices:

  • The class schedule is subject to change without notice.
  • There will be no classes Oct. 12– 14 (Indigenous People’s Day).
  • There will be no classes Nov. 26 – Dec. 1 (Thanksgiving).
  • All classes are held in the Wellness & Recreation Complex. No advanced registration required.
  • Please arrive early to all ‘Move-It’ small group training workouts. Participation will be capped at 12.
  • Cycle classes are held in room 202; ‘Move-It’ classes will be held on Fit 2; Aqua Power will take place in the pool; all other classes will be held in room 214.
  • Run with ‘LOVE’ participants should meet at the James Naismith statue (outside the Campus Union) at 11:50am.

Class Descriptions:

Aqua Power!

New to the schedule is our 30-minute, aqua power endurance workout! This low-impact (not to be
confused with low-intensity) class will primarily focus on cardio and strength work. Come join us in the pool!

Barre/Barre Burn

This dance and ballet-inspired, muscular endurance-focused class is no joke! This total body class packs a punch as it delivers an intense, yet low-impact, workout that utilizes a series of both low-weight resistance and bodyweight exercises. Most exercises are performed on a mat and/or at the Barre. No dance experience necessary. All fitness levels welcome.

Cardio Kickboxing

This class will knock you out! Get ready to punch & kick your way to an awesome cardiovascular workout using boxing, kickboxing & martial arts techniques. All fitness levels welcome.

Cycle n' Core

30-minutes of cycling followed by 15-minutes of core training are packed into this insanely fun workout. You can look forward to great music and an energetic instructor. Don’t forget to bring a towel – we promise, you will get sweaty! All fitness levels welcome

Guts, Butts, and Thighs

Just like the name states, this class will focus on the abdominals, glutes, & legs. The "GBT" instructor will lead you through abdominal/core exercises, squats, lunges, & a variety of lower body moves.

Hip Hop Dance!

Want a total body workout through dance? This dance-based cardio class will have you moving, shaking, and sweating! But, also…the MUSIC lineup is incredible! This energetic class offers the perfect blend of dance moves to some of the hottest hip hop tracks! No dance experience necessary. All fitness levels welcome.

HIIT Cycle

Love to ride? This 45-minute, high intensity interval cycle class will have you spinning! This workout offers alternating periods of high-intensity work and active recovery. This is the type of workout that will keep those calories burning AFTER the work is done. Modifications are given for all fitness levels.

Mornin’ Cycle

For all you morning people out there…it’s BACK! This cardiovascular class will get your heart pumping while cycling on indoor stationary bikes using drills, imagery and/or themes. Cycling is a great workout that people of all fitness levels can enjoy.

Move-It

For the first time ever, we are launching and offering a dedicated functional training focused, small group training program. Move-It combines group, functional and high-intensity training into one explosive calorie burning session. Note that there are both 30-min and 45-min classes on the schedule. YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS…AND BRING FRIENDS!

Run with 'LOVE'

LOVE TO RUN? THEN RUN WITH ‘LOVE!’ Join Vice President of Student Affairs and avid runner, Patrick Love, on a 3-mile, easy-pace run.

Strength & Sculpt

This barbell, strength-resistance class will strength & sculpt your entire body! This choreography based workout will have you jammin’ to your favorite tunes while performing high-repetition, low weight movements. Please arrive early to set up your barbell & bench.

Total Tabata

This fun and challenging workout includes 20 second intervals of high intensity exercise followed by 10 seconds of rest. Workout exercises include bodyweight training, cardio-driven exercises, and total body strength training. You’ll be burning calories hours after this workout!

Yoga/Yoga Flow

Connect with your body, mind, and spirit while improving your strength and flexibility. Each instructor has a unique teaching style and approach to yoga. All fitness levels welcome.

Zumba

ZUMBA® is a fusion of Latin and International music / dance themes that create a dynamic, exciting, and based on the principle that a workout should be "FUN AND EASY TO DO." The routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. All fitness levels welcome.
