Feb. 7: Change to Guest Policy | Springfield College

Dear Students,

In light of our low positivity rate, effective Monday, February 7th, guests will be allowed in the residence halls. We recognize having guests on campus is important to you. Lifting of the current restriction provides us an opportunity to carefully move toward a more typical residential student experience.

Students wishing to have overnight guests must receive prior approval from their roommate(s). In addition, they are required to register their guest and ascertain that the guest is up to date with vaccinations (including the booster by March 1st) and prepared to show proof of vaccination.  Per policy, residents are held responsible for the behaviors of their guests; this includes all COVID-related requirements for masking.  No individual student may have more than one overnight guest at any given time.

We expect all guests, who are eligible, to be vaccinated and boosted against the COVID-19 virus or meet the requirements of a medical or religious exemption. Guests must be masked at all times in the residence halls and follow established policies.  In the next few days, the Office of Housing and Residence Life will email residents reminders of the specifics of the Residence Hall Guest/Visitor Policy.

As our priority continues to be the health and safety of the College community, we will closely monitor our COVID-19 positivity rate and reevaluate our policies, if necessary.

Sincerely,
