Third Positive COVID Case | Springfield College

Sept. 25, 2020

Dear Springfield College Community,

I am writing to inform you that yesterday evening (Thursday), we learned of our third positive COVID case this semester. The student was immediately moved to Supportive Isolation Housing. Contact tracing was started soon after learning the result. Contact tracing resulted in the identification of six students who have been moved to Supportive Quarantine. Additionally, members of the individual’s floor are cooperating with testing and self-quarantine for a few days while they get a series of tests to ensure the virus has not spread on the floor. All other protocols were followed. To protect the student’s privacy, we are not identifying the building in which they live.

We do thank everyone for their cooperation during this pandemic, not just around this case, but around mandatory testing, wearing your masks, and maintaining appropriate physical distance. It takes all of us to succeed this semester. Please have a great and safe weekend.

Sincerely,

Patrick
