Adventure Camp is designed for campers who are eager for a challenge! Campers ages 14 to 16 have the opportunity to help build their adventure. With the support of the Camp Massasoit staff, each session campers will help choose, plan, and implement their two weeks of fun! The first week of each session will be spent preparing for their trip, which takes place Monday through Friday of the second week. The second week of Adventure Camp is all off-site, in campgrounds around the areas where their outdoor adventures will take place.
Camp Massasoit will provide the technical equipment required for all trips. Adventure campers should be in relatively healthy condition and be able to handle the physical rigors inherent in the proposed activities. This might include, but is not limited to, the following: carrying a 40-pound backpack for four to six miles per day over uneven ground, canoeing up to 15 miles per day, and lifting heavy objects. Adventure Camp is open to 10 campers per session and follows our day camp schedule during the first week.
New England Explorer 1 — $700
Session 1: June 22-July 2 (No camp on July 3)
During this session, campers will spend the week exploring, through adventure activity, the diversity of the New England landscape. Adventures may include whitewater rafting, rock climbing, hiking, biking, and kayaking. If this is your camper’s first session in Adventure Camp, this is a great trip for them! If your camper is a returning camper, then they are probably still talking about previous expeditions!

This session will cover basic climbing skills including knots, belaying, and technique. Campers will spend the second week exploring a variety of rock climbing locations. These locations will offer an option of climbing difficulties, from beginner to advanced. This is a great trip for all adventure campers interested in rock climbing!
