Debra L. Burnett, PhD, associate professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders and chair of Public Health and Health Professions, was appointed as a member of the Council of Academic Programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders Academic Affairs Committee for the term of July 2023-June 2025. The committee monitors trends and addresses issues impacting academic preparation of speech-language pathologists and audiologists and makes recommendations to the board of directors.
Travis M. Gagen, PhD, assistant professor of Public Health and Health Sciences, was elected to another term on the board of directors of Elder Services of Worcester Area, and will continue his service on the Services Committee. In addition, he was reappointed to another three-year term on the board of directors for the Holy Trinity Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Worcester, Mass.
Brooke Hallowell, PhD, CCC-SLP, dean of the School of Health Sciences, was appointed to a three-year term on the board of directors of Aphasia Access in January 2024.
Mary Ellen Hluska, PhD, associate professor and director of Art Therapy, was nominated and accepted the role as chair of the American Art Therapy Association Education Committee for the term of January 2024-January 2026.
