Ian Delahanty, PhD, associate professor of History, was awarded the Lawrence J. McCaffrey Prize for Best Book on Irish America by the American Conference for Irish Studies for his book, Embracing Emancipation, in February 2025.

Sue Guyer, DPE, professor of Athletic Training and dean of the School of Physical Education, Performance, and Sport Leadership, received the William E. “Pinky” Newell Memorial Address from the Eastern Athletic Training Education executive board in January 2025. The award is given to an individual who has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to the athletic training profession. Honorees have demonstrated a commitment to continued learning and professional growth; have demonstrated an impact on the athletic training profession via professional involvement on the state, Eastern Athletic Trainers’ Association, or national level; and have been willing to communicate their knowledge and experiences to others through speaking, writing, and research endeavors.

Samantha A. Scott, PhD, assistant professor of Athletic Training, received the Professional Outstanding Poster Presentation Award from the Eastern Athletic Trainers' Association Research Committee in January 2025. Scott’s original research was on an interprofessional education module that was conducted with athletic training and speech-language pathology students.
