Simone B. Alter-Muri, EdD, professor and director of graduate Art Therapy/Counseling, exhibited her artwork at the following events: one painting at the Wistariahurst Museum in Holyoke, Mass. (March-April 2025); one drawing at Hope and Feathers in Northampton, Mass. (February-March 2025); three paintings at Grubbs Gallery at the Williston Northampton School, in Easthampton, Mass. (January 2025).

Laurel R. Davis-Delano, PhD, professor of Sociology, has served on the Massachusetts Mascot Coalition Steering Committee for several years. This committee works with the Massachusetts state legislators who sponsor the mascot bill. This work includes education and lobbying.

Ian Delahanty, PhD, associate professor of History, was an invited speaker at the Old Bridgewater Historical Society in February 2025. He delivered a lecture titled “Embracing Emancipation: Irish Immigrants and Slavery in the Civil War.” Also in February, Delahanty was featured in the Immigration and Ethnic History Society’s Online Book Series. He discussed his recently published book, Embracing Emancipation: A Transatlantic History of Irish Americans, Slavery, and the American Union, 1840-1865.

Diana Gallagher, MFA, assistant professor of Physical Education and head women's gymnastics coach, was invited to speak on the December 2024 Jacobin Sports Show podcast regarding the complicated legacy of the late gymnastics coach Bela Karolyi, one of the most fabled coaches in the sport.

Naomi Graves, MEd, associate professor of Physical Education and head women’s basketball coach, earned the 600th win of her coaching career to become the 13th active women's basketball coach in Division III to reach that milestone. The 600th win came in February 2025 with a victory over Emerson College. Graves has coached the Pride for 34 years. 

Anthony C. Hill, EdD, associate professor of Social Work, was elected as Canaan Baptist Church of Christ senior pastor in Springfield, Mass., in December 2024 and formally installed in February 2025. 

Moira C. Long, MEd, professor of Physical Education and head women’s volleyball coach, earned her 600th career win in 27 seasons as a coach (14 with the Pride) in a victory over Rochester Institute of Technology in September 2024. Only 18 other Division III active coaches have achieved that milestone. 

Fadia Nordtveit, PhD, assistant professor of Communications and Business, completed a four-week training/fellowship on inclusive teaching and pedagogical practices at New York University, New York, N.Y., in the spring of 2025. From March 2023 to November 2024, Nordtveit served as the lead editor of a special issue titled Discourses, Methods and Practices of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging: Towards a Global Shared Framework in the journal Languages Cultures Mediation. The special issue was a collaboration between the U.S. and Italy.
