Javad A. Bakhshinejad, interim Institutional Research analyst, authored “The effects of augmented feedback, focus of attention, and monetary reward on vertical jump height: A replication study” in the International Journal of Exercise Science in January 2025. He is a PhD candidate in Exercise Physiology, Graduate Class of 2026.

Chelsea Corr-Limoges, PhD, assistant professor of Environmental Science and director of the program, co-authored “Solar energy resource availability under extreme and historical wildfire smoke conditions” in Nature Communications in January 2025. 

Laurel R. Davis-Delano, PhD, professor of Sociology, co-authored “Native opposition to Native appropriation and the role of connection to Native nations/communities” in the Journal of Community and Applied Social Psychology in 2025. Her co-authors were Adrienne J. Keene (independent scholar), Renee V. Galliher of Utah State University, Desi Small-Rodriguez of the University of California at Los Angeles, and Anna E. Epperson of the University of California at Merced.

Melih Elcin, MD, assistant dean for Interprofessional Education in the School of Health Sciences, co-authored the following articles: “Use of the measurement tools of TeamSTEPPS®: A scoping review” in BMC Medical Education in February 2025; “Call to action: Honoring simulated participants and collaborating with simulated participant educators” in Simulation in Healthcare in December 2024; “The experiences of cardiovascular surgeons and nurses with mutual support through interprofessional collaboration in the intensive care unit” in Nursing in Critical Care in December 2024; and “Effect of the community of simulated participant model on the identity formation of simulated participants: A qualitative study” in Journal of Adult and Continuing Education in October 2024. Elcin also authored the book chapter “Telehealth Opportunities and Challenges: Recognizing Abuse of an Older Adult During a Telehealth Consultation” in Comprehensive Healthcare Simulation: Geriatric Simulation in November 2024.

Nina Esaki, PhD, associate professor of Social Work, co-authored “Calling all leaders” in Human Service Organizations: Management, Leadership & Governance in September 2024.

Robert Gruber, PhD, associate professor of Philosophy, authored “Animals, distributive justice, and desert” in Res Publica in October 2024.

Chris Hakala, PhD, professor of Psychology and director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Scholarship, co-authored the book Understanding Educational Developers: Tales from the Center in 2025. His co-author is Leslie Cramblet-Alvarez, assistant vice provost and director of the Office of Teaching and Learning at the University of Denver.

Fadia Nordtveit, PhD, assistant professor of Communications and Business, co-authored “Meaning-making and the global DEIB discourse: A reflection and a call to action” in Language Cultures Mediation, LED Edizioni in November 2024. In the same publication, she also co-authored “Inclusive AI technologies and discourses for better DEIB and organizational outcomes.”

Mara Simon, EdD, associate professor of Physical Education and Health Education, and Korey Boyd, PhD, assistant professor of Physical Education and Health Education, co-authored “‘I knew I was worth more’: Black and Latine pre-service PE teachers’ borderland dwellings and crossings” in Whiteness and Education in January 2025.
